Our Original Photo Blanket measures approximately 50" x 60". While resolution is lower compared to our tapestry-based photo blankets this economically-priced photo throw offers a cost-conscious buyer a great deal at a great price. Superior in terms of size and resolution to any competitive two-color photo blanket available today, our Original Photo Blanket is 100% cotton (not Amilux or other synthetic materials) and available in black & white or sepia. Only one subject (person/pet) accepted per blanket. The orientation of your image (horizontal or vertical) is based on your photo. Requires an image size of 584 x 886 pixels. Afghans vs. Tapestry Throws:

Very few people, including our competitors, understand the difference between an afghan and a tapestry throw. In fact, the words tend to be used interchangeably (even by us!). But here's the difference:

Every woven product is created with yarn running in two directions: horizontal and vertical. The yarn used in the manufacture of an afghan is the same thickness in both directions while a tapestry throw is manufactured with yarn of two different diameters. In a tapestry throw the thinner of the two yarns; i.e., the warp, actually consists of at 6 different color strands of yarn which are combined in various ways, based on your photo, to re-create the colors as accurately as possible (even black and white) in a woven tapestry photo throw.

This distinction in yarn thickness means several things:
• Tapestry throw resolution is always superior to afghan resolution (see the comparison below).
• Photos with more than 1-2 subjects and/or a lot of detail will not weave with satisfactory graphic definition in an afghan.
• Full color photo throws must be done as tapestry throws to recreate all of the colors.
• Afghans are limited to 2-3 colors.
• Afghans have a slightly thicker feel than tapestry throws.
• The fringes of tapestry throws (even two-color throws) are always multi-colored.
